Holi Celebration at Pink Mahila Police Chowki with women from Red Light area, GB Road

Catalyst India in conjunction with Delhi Police Central District, organized Holi festival at the Pink Mahila Police Chowki, GB Road, New Delhi. More than 100 sex workers this Red Light area had gathered and decorated the Police Chowki with Rangolis. Some children of sex workers also participated and presented their dance.
Kamla Market Police Station SHO Surinder Dalal, Sub-Inspector Kiran Sethi and Catalyst India team encouraged these women to come to Pink Mahila Police Chowki. This Chowki since functions as a multi-skill training centre, the sex workers can explore the possibilities to learn new skills for livelihood .

The infamous GB road, Red Light area of Delhi was raided on March 18th night by a joint team of Special Cell, Delhi Police. A tip was received by the NGOs that minor girls are being prostituted in several brothels of GB road. This information was shared with the Special Cell and a joint team was formed led by ACP Renu Lata and Inspector Lalit along with Catalyst other partners.

Catalyst India, Delhi recovers two missing girls from Pune Brothel

Ms. Nirmala Walter, the social worker of Catalyst India Charitable Trust, successfully recovered two missing girls and brought back to Delhi from Pune Brothel. After receiving the tips about their whereabouts, Ms. Nirmala promptly coordinated with AHTU, Delhi and together they planned for recovery operation ad headed to Pune immediately. Ms. Nirmala in conjunction with AHTU Delhi and with the co-operation of Pune Police official collaboratively raided the brothel and recovered these two girls in wee hour.

A Week Long Celebration of birth of 40 new born baby girls on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, in Delhi Government Hospitals
This year Catalyst India Charitable Trust celebrated the birth of new born babies from 11th to 15th October, on the occasion the International Day of the Girl Child, of 11 October 2021. In its week-long program, a team of Catalyst India visited four hospitals; Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shish Chikitsalya Hospital, Dwarka, CGHS Maternity & Gynae Hospital, RK Puram, Palika Maternity Hospital, Lodhi Colony and Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, North Delhi.

Catalyst India Charitable Trust celebrating Dusshera with women from red-light areas on 15th October at Women Police Chowki Kamla Market. Total 35 women attended the program and participated in Antakshri and happily received snacks and lunch. Most of them said that the celebration turned to be a real stress buster.
Celebrating Diwali with GB Road Women at Kamala Market Police Station

The evening was different for the women of red light area in GB Road, different from the usual. Catalyst India successfully celebrated Diwali festival with sex workers of this red light area at Kamla Nagar Police Station premise, which has the jurisdiction over the GB Road red light area. Initially around 60 women came and by the end and after the program more women came and they were given Diwali gifts, sweet and snack box. In total around 90 women turned up to experience the Diwali evening with music and fun.
The police dignitaries, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pankaj Kumar, SHO, Surendera Kumar Dalal, Kamla Nagar Police Station, SHO Hauz Khaji and Mr. Pariskhit from Crime Branch, graced the function with their valuable presence. The Catalyst India welcomed them with bouquets and wished them advance Diwali with the gift hampers. Sub Inspector Kiran Sethi, the officer in-charge of Mahila Police Chowki, facilitated to introduce all the dignitaries in the program.
